Tampere, Finland - U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Patrick Smith, a flight engineer assigned to the 1st Squadron, 214th General Support Aviation Battalion, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, looks out the window of a CH-47 Chinook helicopter in flight at Tampere, Finland, Aug. 4, 2022. 12th Combat Aviation Brigade is one of the units to support U.S. European Command theater strategy by demonstrating U.S. commitment to European Allies and Partners and highlighting U.S. capabilities to diverse audiences. 12 CAB is among other units assigned to V Corps, America's Forward Deployed Corps in Europe. They work alongside NATO Allies and regional security partners to provide combat-ready forces, execute joint and multinational training exercises, and retain command and control for all rotational and assigned units in the European Theater.
