Okinawa, Japan - A U.S. Navy sailor, left, with Battalion Landing Team 1/1, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit medically assesses a soldier with the 2nd Amphibious Rapid Deployment Regiment, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force as he applies a tourniquet to his leg for a simulated wound during tactical combat casualty care training for Iron Fist 24 at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 26, 2024. An effective preventative measure for mishaps is training, ensuring our service members are prepared to operate under any circumstances and in any operating environment. Iron Fist is an annual bilateral exercise designed to increase interoperability and strengthen the relationships between U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Navy, the JGSDF and the JMSDF.
