Colonel Everett Good is a native of Centerview, Missouri. He attended the New Mexico Military Institute in 1996 and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2001. Following graduation from The Basic School and the Infantry Officer Course, he attended flight school in Pensacola, FL and was designated a Naval Aviator in August 2003.
Col Good’s operational assignments include AH-1W/Z pilot duties as a member of HML/A-167, HMLA-369, and HMLA-169 (Commanding Officer). These assignments included four deployments to Operation Iraqi Freedom (including the 22nd and 26th MEU) and two deployments supporting the III MEF Unit Deployment Program. Additionally, Col Good served as an Air Officer/Joint Terminal Attack Controller with the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, deploying twice on the ground to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Col Good’s staff assignments include Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One, the Joint Staff J-39, Deputy Directorate for Global Operations - Special Projects and Innovation Division, and his current assignment as Director, Commandant of the Marine Corps Safety Division.
Col Good’s education includes a B.S. in Oceanography from the U.S. Naval Academy (2001), the USMC Amphibious/Expeditionary Warfare School, the US Army Command and General Staff College (2015), a M.A. in Global and International Studies from the University of Kansas (2015), and a M.S. in National Security Strategy from the National War College (2021).
Col Good accumulated over 3100 mishap free flight hours and earned every qualification and designation possible in the AH-1W/Z. His personal decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (with Gold Star in lieu of second award), Air Medal with Strike Flight Numeral 6, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with Gold Stars in lieu of third award).
