Marine Corps Safety Management System

Marine Corps Safety Management Systems

The purpose of the Marine Corps Safety Management System (MCSMS) is to provide a
framework for managing Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) risks and opportunities. The
aim and intended outcome of the MCSMS are to prevent injury and ill health to Marines, Sailors,
and civilian Marines, and to provide safe and healthful places to work, live, and recreate;
consequently, it is critically important for the organization to eliminate and/or mitigate hazards
and minimize SOH risks by taking effective preventive and protective measures.
