Colonel Timothy K. Gallagher Jr.

Colonel Timothy Gallagher is currently serving as the Director for Risk Management Directorate - Safety Division. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2003 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in May of that year.

After completing The Basic School, he underwent flight training, earning his designation as a Naval Aviator in August 2005.

Colonel Gallagher’s operational assignments include three tours with VMGR-352 where he deployed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, along with Special Purpose Marine Air and Ground Task Force Crisis Response Central Command. He commanded MAG-49 Det B and VMGR-452 in New York (2021 - 2023).

His staff and education assignments include tours in France as an Olmsted Scholar and exchange officer, earning a master's degree in international security at Sciences Po Paris (2012) and graduating from French Command and Staff (2017). He served as the KC-130 Requirements Officer in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) staff in the Pentagon (2019 - 2021) and completed fellowships at Yale University (2024) and the French War College (2025).
