Command Safety Awards Program

Purpose

This is a local safety awards program established by the command to recognize safety performance of subordinate units and individual military and civilian personnel for their contributions and enhancements to the command safety program.

Frequency

Determined by the commanding officer.

Eligibility

Subordinate units and individual military and civilian personnel.

Criteria

Commands may incorporate awards to recognize significant accomplishments throughout their organization. For example, commands can create a Marine Accident Prevention Award presented to units that complete 12 consecutive months, a major training exercise, or a deployment of greater than 120 days without experiencing a class A, B, or C mishap.

Requirements for Submission

Decided by the commander.

Recognition for Recipients

Commanders may purchase commemorative items, utilizing local funds, and are authorized to design and use locally produced certificates, plaques, or trophies.
